TO MY SITE  

Hi, and welcome!  I am Phyllis White and this is my website.  I am an artist and freelance writer from Florence, Alabama.  If you happen to be in the North Alabama area you can see some of my work displayed at the Kennedy-Douglas Art Center or you may see me at 'First Fridays' on Court Street in downtown Florence, where artists come each month to display their work.  I have painted most of my life, but more seriously for the past four years. I am a member of the Shoals Artist Guild and  studied art for two years under Tim Stevenson, a great artist who specializes in realism. I majored in art at the University of North Alabama and have also studied art under impressionist painter, Roger Dale Brown, and portrait painter, Connie Erickson.  I paint in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and specialize in colored pencil portraits.  I take commissions for both oil and colored pencil portraits, as well as anything else you may want painted.
